What is Minnesota Grain & Feed Association?
It is a voluntary, non-profit association, composed of competing grain elevator firms and other agribusinesses involved in the grain, feed, fertilizer and farm supply business. The Minnesota Grain and Feed Association was established in 1907 to provide information, education and representation for an emerging country elevator industry, a function that still exists today. The association services, programs and policies are directed by a nine member board of directors and several committees. The association has grown to become one of the largest, most effective elevator and grain trade associations in the upper Midwest.
The Minnesota Grain and Feed Association (MGFA), through its development as an effective and reliable organization, holds an important key to the success and survival of your agribusiness and to the progressive development of our industry. On January 1, 2004 MGFA merged with the Northwest Agri Dealers Association, an agribusiness association based in Mankato, Minnesota, possessing a similar mission. Member firms, both past and present, have learned from experience, that they must join together for mutual protection. Members realize that individually, they do not have the time, money, or manpower to interpret the effect of laws and regulations, stay abreast of the constant changes in the industry, develop all the necessary industry contacts and resources in areas affecting their businesses, or adequately represent themselves. The MGFA, through its pertinent and timely education, information and representation, effectively addresses the issues of the day.

MGFA, through its in-house insurance agency (MGFA Agency), provides grain warehouse and grain buyer bonds for many elevators (underwritten by CNA Surety). We have been providing bonds for elevators for over 80 years with 100% of the commission we receive going back to the members in the form of information, education and representation. We would like you and your firm to consider placing your bond through MGFA.
We have a comprehensive safety and health program that is designed to bring you up to basic compliance with existing regulations and keep you there. You Can’t Afford to Compromise Safety!
The Association has developed a Safety and Health Video Library containing “elevator specific” videos and related employee training materials that can be rented by Association members. The videos cover an array of safety and health related topics and are excellent for supplementing mandatory employee training sessions.
The Association has established a relationship with ADP, Inc. (Automatic Data Processing, Inc.) for comprehensive payroll, tax, investment strategies & human resource services. For more information, please contact MGFA’s ADP Representative, Cassandra Hager by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
